Canadian Sphynx
You are welcome to Canadian Sphynx cattery Moon Kiss owned by miss Irina Savdid.
If you are reading this now it means that you are already in love with this beautiful breed and want to own one of these cats!
I personally fell in love with these wonderful cats with the very first sight. When I took one of them in my arms for the first time it felt amazing - their skin is soft and warm, they smell like milk and cinnamon and their eyes+ when they look at you it seems like they're looking straight to your soul.
In many ways Sphynx is like a baby. Their mental abilities can be actually compared to those of a three years old child. I try to keep a constant connection with my cats - I talk to them, I train and teach them. By the way, Canadian Sphynx is very easy to train. You can teach them a lot of basic tricks (say, how to bring a toy or stand on their hind paw).
Canadian Sphinx is not only a cat. It's a Friend in the first place. It's there for everything that is happening in your life and in your house - when you cook, when you watch TV, when you sleep or even shower your cat follows you eagerly. My cat, Bradberry, for example is always there when I come home from work. He greets me with a happy "ma-ma" sound and then wants me to kiss him.
Canadian Sphynx is a very kind, loving and sociable cat. If you spend most of your time at work and don't really have any time for your cat in the evening this breed is not for you. But then again, you can have two of these wonderful creatures so that they can play together while you're out. Besides that, Sphinx has no problem living under the same roof with any other kind of pet you might already have - dogs, rats, parrots+ you name it.
Sphynxes are very curious about everything and everyone. They are not afraid of new people so the will never hide under the couch if you have invited guests for a party. On the contrary, they will come out and meet everyone with great pleasure.
There are only a few cats in our kennel and that allows us to pay as much attention and love to each one of them as we can. My husband Vladimir and my daughter Svetlana help me to take care of our pets. Our cats are like family members to us - they live in the same apartment and they are not limited in anything. We don't keep them in cages, never.
We also take great care about the health of our cats - all breeders are being tested for FeLV/FIV/FIP and HCM annually. We can guarantee that our cats are in a perfect shape and health!
If you have any questions - call us or e-mail us. We will be glad to answer all of them.
28-29 May 2011 we Odrey Moon Kiss (our first cat breeding) visited the exhibition on the WCF in the city of Penza.
Our congratulations to Eugene and Thaerchiku. Keep it up!

Naked cat? Why not!
The History of the Breed
There are breeds of cats, which are very strongly imprinted in the memory of man. That can be attributed to this breed the Canadian Sphynx, also known as naked cat. It is a rare and unique view of the lack of hair. Modern breeding such cats can be attributed to 1966, although, of course, there are earlier references to "cats without clothes." In 1903, one of the American books about cats have a letter from a certain gentleman Shinika of New Mexico, which acquired the American Indians hairless kittens from the same litter. Single reference, however, did not play a significant role in the history of breeding species - kittens had no offspring, breed them no one was going, but curiosity brought many pleasant moments for the hosts.
Modern Sphynx cattery began to appear with the 60-ies. Hairless kittens were crossing into Canada, which gave the appropriate prefix to the name of the breed. In 1966, a fluffy white cat Elizabeth was born hairless kitten, named Prune. Why he does not have hair, explained scientists - initially by the appearance of the breed has played the role of the absence of the gene responsible for the formation of hairline animal. Kitten crossed with the same cat Elizabeth, and turned hairless offspring. Which, however, died.
There have been attempts to cross completely hairless cats with the usual short-haired. But significant progress is not produced: great sphinx kittens were obtained only from a completely bald parents. Sometimes they picked up on the street and tried to cross only with each other, or with animals that have very short hair. Simultaneous selection took place in the late 1970's - early 80-ies in North America and Europe. This work formed the basis of breed the Canadian sphynx, and today we can enjoy a truly unique animals.
Nature has adapted these cats to life: they have a body temperature higher than that of animals with fur, their skin is covered with little visible vellus hair, has the ability to cleanse itself. Canadian Sphynx does not have the usual cat odor, does not cause allergies, very chistoploten and sociable. Despite the very short history of the breed, this cat has a distinctive character and conduct, and that is especially pleasant for breeders - excellent health.
Appearance, Care, and especially
In Russia today there are too Sphynx cattery, because in this rock fall in love completely and irrevocably. Although this is the case when the "love of photography," almost never occurs. But there is a sense at the level of tactile sensations - for kittens sphinx and the more adults do not ... naked! Skin texture resembles suede, and the whole body is covered with vellus hairs. Despite the high body temperature, these cats like warm places and prefer to sleep under a blanket .... Sometimes they have a mustache and eyebrows, but more often they are absent. Sphynx known as extroverts by nature, they exhibit a high level of intelligence. Very energetic, inquisitive and exceedingly fond of their owners.
These cats need that they bathed once a week. Like water, but, just like any other animal, do not see the water. On the street they can not go without the owner. But not just on the open street, and, for example, on a balcony or open window. The animal can get a sunburn, and (just like people) do not notice that the skin burns in the sun. Canadian Sphynx has a natural curiosity, and this character can lead them into dangerous places and create a situation where your pet will have something to threaten. Therefore it is necessary to foresee all the difficulties and problems and try to protect the animal. All Breeders Sphynx kittens supply buyers detailed recommendations, and should not be ignored, raising a kitten.
Special attention to this breed pay allergies, and not by accident. The absence of hair on the body of the animal is almost completely can not guarantee that it will not cause allergies in the household or guests. Sphynx kittens to a greater extent, and adults - are less in need of cleaning the ears of sulfur. Ears of animals also do not contain hair, so sulfur accumulates very active. Ears are cleaned well after bathing, and this procedure can be done once a week. Sphynx have almost no health problems, this breed is recognized as one of the most reliable in terms of hereditary diseases. However, due to the lack of fur, these cats are subject to colds. Therefore, breeders are trying to transfer to new owners only animals mature enough to adapt to new surroundings. Recommended to send these kids, starting at 12 weeks of age.
What to look for animals, and on that - the hosts
The most striking feature, which has a Sphynx, a naked body (with some traces of hair), tail, toes on the feet and fever. This cat inspires and fascinates. Buy it for the first time he took on his hands - he is so pleasant to the touch. Therefore, usually in the Breeders Sphynx come friends or relatives of those who have already settled charming animals. And the first contact with these animals begins with the fact that you take him in my arms. In addition to the "suede" wool and a comfortable temperature, which is higher than man, the sphinx kittens have big eyes. This gives the pet smart appearance. Wedge-shaped head, abdomen and folds are characteristic of the breed. Sphynx live about 9-15 years, although history knows cats and long-lived, some specimens have lived for 30-34 years.
This cat - a complete personality, and he can choose his own master. If he tried to draw your attention, therefore, already made his choice. This cat-actor (though clumsy), he gets pleasure from his performances been played. Canadian sphynx has no hair, and hence, weight gain or excessive thinness he noticed more than any other breeds. From the viewpoint of a pet's health, it is not so bad - just visible deviations from the norm, and the owner can pick the right diet.
